Program Purpose:

To overcome the isolation experienced by the residents of nursing care and assisted living facilities, while making the wisdom, talents and cultures of these residents available to the community.

History:

I-You Venture was founded in 1974 as a response to an identified community need and has touched the lives of tens of thousands of care facility residents and I-You Venture volunteers.

Service Description:

I-You Venture recruits, orients and places volunteers with residents of local care facilities. Volunteers are involved in a broad range of activities from small groups involved in projects like Ageless Art and Holiday Helpers, to the quiet intimacy of one-to-one visiting.

I-You Venture hosts an annual cookout, for care facility residents, in Aptos Village Park on the first Friday in September. We invite you to join us as a volunteer for this festive event.

The volunteers of I-You Venture understand the difference it makes on a care facility resident's spirit to receive a gift during the holiday season.
