About the Training

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, commonly known as ASIST, equips participants with practical skills to recognize when someone may be at risk of suicide and intervene effectively to help them stay safe.

Key Training Points:

  • Teaches a widely used, evidence-based model for suicide first aid intervention
  • Helps participants identify signs of suicidal ideation
  • Trains participants to develop a collaborative safety plan and connect the person with further support and resources

  • Wednesday & Thursday, October 28-29th, 2026 at 945 S. Main St. Salinas, CA 93901
  • January 2027 Dates & Location: TBD
Each training is in person and runs for two consecutive days from 9:00AM – 5:00PM (PST), for a total of sixteen hours, which includes a 1-hour lunch period and scheduled short breaks.
Please note: Participants must attend both days in order to receive certification.
