Program Overview

CareCORE is an Intensive Outpatient Counseling Program that aims to help individuals who are feeling suicidal by providing them with the support, tools, and skills they need on their journey toward healing.

Our licensed counselors aid individuals with stabilization and management of their emotions and develop the necessary skills to maintain a healthy mental and physical state.

Program Elements

Our program is open to people of all ages and identities who face suicidal ideation or have a history of suicide attempts. Our program for youth provides services to the youth’s family as well. We are committed to tailoring our approach to your needs. You can choose to receive counseling services at our downtown Santa Cruz office or through our secure telehealth platform – whichever suits your preferences.

Intensive Support

We see each person for 2-3 sessions per week for approximately two months, providing you with frequent support to help stabilize your emotional state and minimize suicidal thoughts and behaviors.

Collaborative Care

We know that you are the expert of your life. Our counselors work hand in hand with you, respecting your needs, preferences, and goals to co-create a treatment plan that genuinely resonates with you.

The program begins with a thorough assessment of your needs, including mental health status, suicidal ideation, and emotional challenges. This assessment is collaborative and centers your unique needs and concerns.

Stabilization

Skill Development

In each session, we teach you a range of tools and skills to better cope with your emotional stressors and challenges, including training in mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and other techniques proven to be effective in managing suicidal ideation.

Post-Program Support

We provide ongoing support even after completion of the program to ensure that you continue to make progress and maintain your mental health and wellbeing.

Affordability

We accept Medi-Cal through Central California Alliance for Health and Medicare, both with no out of pocket fees. If you don’t have or don’t wish to use insurance, our low-cost Sliding Scale Fee is based on your monthly gross income to ensure all applicants can afford our services!

We are committed to keeping our services affordable, and are happy to work with each individual to ensure you can receive our services.

Location

We provide services in-person at our downtown Santa Cruz location, and throughout California via a secure telehealth platform.
