ASIST
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST): ASIST is a two-day training course that teaches participants how to intervene with someone who may be at risk of suicide. This training provides practical skills for recognizing warning signs and engaging in a conversation with someone about their suicidal thoughts. ASIST also teaches participants how to develop a safety plan, provide ongoing support, and connect someone to professional resources as needed.
CALM
CALM (Counseling on Access to Lethal Means) is the oldest and most widely-used training on lethal means safety. Designed primarily for practitioners working with at-risk clients, CALM teaches practical intervention methods for reducing an at-risk person's access to lethal means.
Youth Mental Health First Aid
Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) training provides individuals with the knowledge and skills to offer initial support to someone experiencing a mental health crisis or problem. It aims to increase mental health literacy, reduce stigma, and guide individuals towards professional help. Mental health refers to a person's emotional, psychological, and social well-being, impacting how they think, feel, and act throughout life.
Let's Talk About It
Our non–evidence-based training, which is also our most commonly delivered presentation, is called Let’s Talk About It. It is a 1-hour introductory session designed to raise awareness and reduce stigma around suicide and mental health. It's available in English and Spanish, both in person and online, and has been widely requested over the past several years. There are three tailored versions: one for youth, one for adults, and one for mental health professionals.
