About the Training

Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is an online, skills-based training that teaches adults how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in youth.

Key Training Points:

  • Increases awareness of common mental health challenges youth may face, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and thoughts of suicide
  • Teaches participants how to recognize warning signs and risk factors in youth
  • Provides a step-by-step action plan, known as ALGEE, to support youth who may be in crisis or in the early stages of a mental health concern

  • Wednesday, August 26th, 2026
  • Tuesday, September 29th, 2026
Trainings have two hours of required, self paced pre-work which must be completed prior to the session.
Each training is held online via Zoom, and runs from 9:00AM – 3:00PM (PST) which includes a 30-minute lunch break and scheduled short breaks.
