About the Training
Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is an online, skills-based training that teaches adults how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in youth.
Key Training Points:
- Increases awareness of common mental health challenges youth may face, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and thoughts of suicide
- Teaches participants how to recognize warning signs and risk factors in youth
- Provides a step-by-step action plan, known as ALGEE, to support youth who may be in crisis or in the early stages of a mental health concern
