ASIST
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST): ASIST is a two-day training course that teaches participants how to intervene with someone who may be at risk of suicide. This training provides practical skills for recognizing warning signs and engaging in a conversation with someone about their suicidal thoughts. ASIST also teaches participants how to develop a safety plan, provide ongoing support, and connect someone to professional resources as needed.
CALM
CALM (Counseling on Access to Lethal Means) is the oldest and most widely-used training on lethal means safety. Designed to teach clinicians, gun owners, and the general public practical intervention methods for reducing an at-risk person's access to lethal means.
Youth Mental Health First Aid
Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is a skills-based training that teaches adults how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in youth. This training increases awareness of common mental health issues that youth face, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and thoughts of suicide. YMHFA provides an action plan model to support youth in crisis or in early stages of a mental health concern.
Let's Talk About It
Our non–evidence-based training, which is also our most commonly delivered presentation, is called Let’s Talk About It. It is a 1-hour introductory session designed to raise awareness and reduce stigma around suicide and mental health. It's available in English and Spanish, both in person and online, and has been widely requested over the past several years. There are three tailored versions: one for youth, one for adults, and one for mental health professionals.
