We invite you all to watch our video, where you will not only learn about the work we do, but you will also experience our 50+ year history of service to the community by the staff and volunteers at Family Service Agency of the Central Coast. A transcript of the video is available below.
In 1957, a group of local residents concerned about problems affecting families started Family Service Agency of the Central Coast as a private nonprofit agency to serve our community. Offering a variety of clinical, crisis, educational, outreach, and supportive services designed to maintain and strengthen community life.
Family Service Agency provides support through a number of different programs.
Sometimes, a child needs special attention. Counseling for children and young adults, helping children reach their full potential.
Sometimes a call can save a life. Suicide Prevention Service: Life supporting crisis line and outreach services, promoting health and safety.
Sometimes we need someone to listen. Counseling for adults and seniors: Supporting individuals, couples, and families struggling with issues affecting their relationships both at work and home.
Sometimes, professionals need to learn new things. Continuing education: workshops and seminars for mental health providers, school personnel, and nurses.
Sometimes, we can feel all alone. Senior Outreach: Peer counseling to empower seniors as they confront the transitions of aging.
Sometimes, you need support from others like you. Survivors Healing Center: Prevention of child sexual abuse, and support groups for survivors and their allies.
WomenCARE: Emotional and practical support services for women diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones.
Sometimes, you just need a friend. I-You Venture: Group activities and personal support to help care facility residents to overcome isolation and loneliness.
And sometimes, you need to gather together and shout out loud. All of our programs require the support of local residents, and celebrate the resilient nature of the human spirit. Join us at our events as we embrace the joy of living, and safeguard the memories of the people and things we have lost.
For many years, FSA’s dedication and commitment to their mission has sustained individuals of all ages and their families to confront and triumph over life’s challenges and crises.
